Topographic surveys provide a graphic representation of the physical features of a project site. These surveys, sometimes called site plans, show natural and man made features such as streams, woodlands, wetlands, ground elevations and existing improvements, i.e. buildings, sidewalks, utility poles, pipelines, utilities, etc. Topographic surveys are necessary for the design of new roads/streets, buildings, storm water drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems and other utilities.
